The Spear is a throwing and thrusting weapon. It was the Long-Range weapon of the Viking.
Description
The Viking spear consisted of a metal head about 20 to 60 cm (8 to 24 inches) in length attached to a wooden shaft.
Uses
The Vikings most likely wielded their spears one-handed. Aside from thrusting, the weapon could also be thrown, and a skilled user could throw two spears at once. Vikings typically carried four spears a piece. The shaft of the weapons could also be used for blocking.
