In addition to Germany, it was used by Spain, Italy, Austria-Hungary, Italy, the Ottoman Empire, and the Republic of China, and was widely popular with British officers prior to World War I, with Winston Churchill himself favoring it. It saw action in both World Wars, the Spanish Civil War, Chinese Civil War, and the Estonian War of Independence. The Mauser is no longer mass produced today because its weird shape and certain problems with reloading its magazine.

In the show

The Mauser was pitted against the Viet Cong's Tokarev TT-33. The Mauser was given the edge, due to it's higher capacity and option for fully-automatic fire.
