The Heckler and Koch G36 assault rifle that was designed in the early 1990s. It fires the 5.56x45mm round and the rifle served as a replacement for Germany's HK G3 battle rifle. It is gas-operated and is fed from a 30-round magazine or 100-round magazine. Its competition, SWAT's LWRC-PSD assault rifle, was given the edge because of its higher caliber bullets which would take less time in killing a target.
