Deadliest Warrior: The Game is a fighting video game based on the show. It was released on the Microsoft Xbox 360 for the Xbox Live Arcade on July 14, 2010, and later on Playstation Network on October 5, 2010. A sequel Deadliest Warrior: Legends was released in Summer 2011, and a third game was announced in September 2011, to be released in December.

Gameplay

Two fighters (all from the ancient categories, with the exception of the pirate) will square off in arenas such as a jungle, castle courtyard, and even the Deadliest Warrior Fight Lab. Each warrior is armed with a short-range, mid-range, and long-range weapon (which has limited ammunition). The warriors also have different fighting styles. For example, the Ninja has very little defense and has quick and agile attacks while the Pirate uses a lot of power with his gunpowder-based weapons to make up for his poor mobility. The fights typically last a very short time, as the damage is much more realistic than in traditional fighting games. Weapons can cause bleeding, severed limbs, and even cause instant death if they hit the correct spot. As players play through the game, they can unlock new weapons and armors to customize the style and appearance of their warriors, some which have not even appeared on the show. There are also mini-games based on the test done on the show, such as cutting up pig carcasses. Completing these tests also unlocks weapons and body armor.

Updates

In addition to free patches which balance gameplay and additional modes, Spike Games have released a $5 DLC expansion pack for three new warriors, the Zande warrior, the Rajput, and the Shaolin Monk.
