Machine guns are fully automatic mounted or portable firearms, usually designed to fire rounds in quick succession from an ammunition belt or large-capacity magazine, typically at a round of several hundred rounds per minute. Heavy machine guns are those which are generally too cumbersome to be moved quickly and are generally used for static defense, while light machine guns are those designed to be used by an individual solder.
